Film Instructor

Mitchell Powers is a filmmaker from New Orleans who relocated to Savannah in 2005 with the assistance of Hurricane Katrina. His short film “I’m Like This Every Day” was an official selection of the 2008 San Francisco DocFest, the 2008 Hot Springs Documentary Film Festival, and the 2009 Atlanta Film Festival. As AWOL’s film program artist/facilitator, he is teaching a documentary production class, which is currently producing a documentary on historic neighborhoods in the eastside of Savannah in partnership with the City of Savannah.
