Ms.Lakesha L. Green native of Montgomery Al, holds a B.A in Theater Arts from Alabama State University and a M.F.A in Media and Performing Arts from the Savannah College of Art and Design. Ms. Green began her theater career in Central and Southeast Alabama. She has directed over 25 productions and performed over 30 works for the theater.
Her extensive background in theater, film, and education has taken her to many new experimental venues to show case her directing, acting, and designing. She has enormous productions throughout Alabama, Georgia, and New York. Some of her directing credits include adaptations of classic texts such as Hamlet, Lady Macbeth, and Romeo and Juliet.
Ms. Green was the recipient of numerous awards and nominations from Alabama State University. She was also awarded an Artistic Fellowship in 2005 at the Savannah College of Art and Design. She has taught various lectures on arts management, directing, and costuming. She has participated in various improvisation, playwright, stage movement, and characterization workshops throughout the country. These various workshops include training with Tim Miller(Professional actor, author and activist), Dr. Tommie Tonea Stewart( Professional Theater and Film Actress “A Time to Kill”, “In the Heat of Night” and Professor) and many more.
Ms.Green has developed programs to implement best practices for to help young actors. Community service projects that she has worked on in Montgomery, Al and Savannah, Ga is working with HIV/AIDS educational programming. In Montgomery Al, she served on the Montgomery AIDS outreach board and raised over $5,000 for the organization and was featured in the Montgomery Advertiser. In Savannah she worked with the Union Mission on a project called the PEACE TILE PROJECT where she was one of the featured artist, which dealt with the educational programming of HIV/AIDS.
